Presidents Corner

New season #The 2014 football season kicked off on a high note last Saturday with the Pillays Garments Champion vs Champion series at Prince Charles Park in Nadi. Champions from the 2013 season that are Ba and Nadi clashed in the series which drew a huge crowd. #Fiji Football Association could not have asked for a better start to the season and I would like to thank the fans who turned out in huge numbers to make the first leg of the series an exciting one. #We look forward to a similar outcome as the 2014 Fiji Sun Skipper Tuna National Football League kicks off this weekend. #CVC #The Pillays Garment Champion vs Champion series will conclude this Sunday at Govind Park in Ba. #Both Nadi and Ba are in the running for the first title of the season after playing to a 1-1 draw in the first leg and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top. #All the best to both the sides and we look forward to an exciting encounter. #To the sponsors Pillays Garments, thank you for generosity. #Fiji Sun Skipper Tuna National Football League 2014#Exciting times are ahead as the 2014 Fiji Sun Skipper Tuna National Football League kicks off this weekend. #Eight of the best sides in the country which survived last year will battle for the top prize and the opening weekend of action should set the stage right for the remainder of the season. #I urge the fans to come out in numbers and make the 2014 Fiji Sun Skipper Tuna National Football League a successful one. #On this note I would like to thank our sponsors CJ Patel Group and Vodafone who have come on board with this tremendous support. This sponsorship will go down a long way in assisting the development of football in the country. #Roy Krishna #I would like to congratulate our very own Roy Krishna who made his debut in the A-League for Wellington Phoenix last Sunday. Krishna achieved his long-time dream when he signed a professional contract last week with the Phoenix. #Krishna has been knocking on the doors and I’m proud of his achievement. I believe this move will open doors for other local players in the country to play in higher standard leagues. #We want to see more of our players playing professionally. #As far as Krishna is concerned, he has got a long way to go and I would like to wish him all the best. #
