Presidents Corner

Greetings to all
Vodafone Fiji FACT 2013
The 2013 Vodafone Fiji FACT kicked off last weekend at the ANZ Stadium in Suva. Two exciting rounds of matches was played and this has set the platform for the remainder of the tournament, which will be played at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
On this note, I would like to thank the football fans that turned out in huge numbers to make the opening round a success.
Big Vinaka Vakalevu to our Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama, who despite his busy schedule took time out to officially open the 2013 Vodafone Fiji FACT.
Sponsors Vodafone, it is only through your support this has been possible and we hope for a similar support in the many more years to come.
To the players, my only concern is the discipline on the field. Over the weekend, we had a number of players sent off. This is not what football is about, when one team is a player down it affects the whole side. I urge all players to show good sportsmanship and accept the decision of the referee.
Quite a number of teams are in contention for a semifinal berth and I hope the fans at Prince Charles Park in Nadi will get to witness some high quality football.
In addition, the promotion to win a brand new Nissan Navara is still on, Text “Fact” to 368 to get into the draw.
FIFA World Cup Trophy
As announced in the live football talkback on FBC TV last Friday, yes the FIFA World Cup trophy will be here for a tour this September. This is a unique opportunity for all the football fans and the public to come and see the FIFA World Cup trophy.
We plan to organise a Southern vs. Western Division match in line with the FIFA World Cup trophy visit. All the best Southern and Western players will get a unique opportunity to play this historic match.
Fiji Football Association continues to face a wrath of criticisms still after the Labasa saga and the drop in rankings.
All I can say now is that we are working hard to get Fiji to a level it once held and I can assure the glory days are not very far.
