Naqeleca joins Fiji Football

Naqeleca who made his debut for the national team in 2007 at the age of 18 said he is looking forward to his work.#“I want to start my work on the development of football with children so that in a few years time they are developed and are established to play constructive soccer,” he said.#The former Hekari FC captain said he is grateful to the Fiji FA for giving him an opportunity to work as a development officer.#“I thank Fiji FA for giving me the opportunity to come and work as a development officer and to share my knowledge with young kids”, he said.#Naqeleca added that it’s a new start for his life to work on the development of football and to see football from a coach point of view.#“This is a new chapter in my life and I have always looked at football from a players perspective but now I have been given a chance to see to from the other side.”#Naqeleca was part of the national team which played against Wellington Phoenix. He has previously represented the national team in all the age groups and has a wealth of experience.#Fiji FA technical director Ravinesh Kumar said Naqeleca has been brought as they have a new technical development system in place now.#“He is our national rep and his inclusion in the development programme will boost the morale of the young players. He will be visiting all the development centres demonstrating his skills which will create more interest to our developing players.#“He will also be a motivator because he has played abroad and has huge knowledge about football.”#Kumar added that Naqeleca is a disciplined person and would be a great asset to the technical team in the development centres.#
