Savusavu in hot water

The Northern based side were handed their second huge in the weekend. #The side played Ba last Saturday losing the fixture 8-0 and then getting humiliated with the 11-0 score line against Suva. #Savusavu captain Kaair Khan who made numerous saves in the match said lack of preparation led them to the downfall.#“First of all we were told at the last minute that we are coming to playing on Wednesday and then we travelled on Friday from Nabalou to Natoovi and then to Ba and we then had 11 players with no reserves, it is very hard to come and the condition of the weather in Savusavu was really very bad. We could not train for the 2 weeks as it was raining,” he said. #Khan said it will be a sad moment to see the team getting demoted at the end of the season and the day is not very far. #“For me I have a district pride and we have bought Savusavu to the Super Premier since I played goalie against Nasinu. Our senior players didn’t come so we used some of the young players like 19 years old. Players got injured so we had to wait for them to recover and then come back to play. We at times played with nine or ten men,” Savusavu skipper said.#Savusavu remains winless in the competition after playing 14 matches with only three draws. # Fiji FA Media#
