Western final: Jesoni

But for one man Allan Jesoni he has predicted Ba and Lautoka to play in the final while Ba coming out winners provided they maintain their discipline. #Former national rep Allan Jesoni shared his view on this year’s Vodafone Fiji FACT and believes the toughest teams would only survive in this nature of high intense tournament.#“The two pools look tough but it is the pool two which is the pool of death and the teams has to really dig deep if they are to qualify for the semifinals. Teams which come more prepared will be the utmost the best to win the tournament when the tournament comes to an end,” Jesoni said.#Allan has predicted four teams to excel and feature in the semifinal on Saturday in this year’s Vodafone Fiji FACT.#“My prediction for the four teams who has the chances to appear in the semifinals in this tournament is from pool one it is going to be Ba and the defending champions Suva to qualify looking at their performance while Nadi and Lautoka would be the next two teams who would enter the elimination round. But on the other hand other teams will be coming prepared for the five days of tournament and we have seen in the past that the favourite teams have fallen in the tournaments so anything can happen in this one as well.” Jesoni predicted.#Jesoni who has guided Suva few years back believes defending Vodafone Fiji FACT champions Suva is favourite to qualify from their pool but lot of work needs to be done behind the scene.#“All eyes will be on the defending champions Suva to win the title for the second time but the only weakness they have at the moment is their defense which was exposed by the Labasa though they lost but they managed to score two goals from long distance. Suva needs to polish their defense if they are to be the serious contender for this year’s tournament but they are really fast upfront and when it comes to tournament they are the polished side. I know their coach Gurjit Singh will work on that since he has been a successful coach with other districts as well but for now their defense is a concern. In tournaments chances won’t come many times so you have to get deliver the chances which you get,” former national defender said.#Jesoni who is originally from Ra in Rakiraki has captained the national side to the 1995 South Pacific games in the Tahiti where the side finished third and was given the bronze medal. He has also played number of caps for Fiji team and then hanged his boot and started concentrating on the coaching aspect.#Inform Ba side will be the side to look for as are back from playing in the Oceania Champions League and this could be the major difference between Ba and the rest of the teams when it comes to tournament. #“The devastating Ba side will have the upper hand playing against the other teams with the knowledge and experience they have bought from playing on the level of competition. They should go on and win the final if they maintain their discipline which has been costly for them in the Champions League. Ba has thrashed Tavua with a 13-2 score line recently in the national league which itself tells us the form Ba is currently in and it gives the fair idea what could is expected to come from Ba in the tournament,”#The host for the this year’s Fiji FACT Nadi would be playing in front of their home crowd and Jesoni believes the team which has been has performing well will be the team to turn heads.#“Nadi has currently been doing well in the national league and they have got much got good talent in the team like Rusiate Matarerega and the most important thing is they have been consistent so far in the league matches as they have defeated teams like Suva and Ba. Team has been development very well and then playing at home would be something they are looking forward.” Football passionate Jesoni added.#Design Engineering Lautoka has impressed Jesoni a lot in the National Football League matches this season and this has made him predict Blues will defiantly qualify from their pool.#“Lautoka has been one team which have been performing very well in the recent matches in the National Football League and the way they have played against Rewa and they displayed good structured football and they will be the team to stop for the other participating teams.” #He has also further said the teams needs to come prepared for the 90 minutes of matches in this first tournament of the year.#“All the teams need to come fully prepared so that the players can last for the full 90 minutes. Coaches should also improve the endurance and stamina so that the players can last for the match but overall it is going to be a exciting tournament which will be played at the both sides of the island Suva and Nadi and the people should come in full numbers to support their teams. I back the decision to play 90 minutes of matches in the tournaments but then it goes down to the team preparation and how well they prepare the side for the teams,”#Jesoni said the football family should not forget the out ultimatum goal is to develop our place who will achieve out dream.#“The district, players, fans and the administrators should work together to see the football in the country been developed. This is the platform for us to help develop our Fiji team and at the end of the football is the winner for everyone. ” Jesoni concluded. #The former national player Jesoni will also be taking his side Lami in the Premier Competition at Vodafone Fiji FACT at Prince Charles Park. # Fiji FA Media#
