The association president beaming with lot of confidence with the side after found rhythm in the Fiji Sun GP Batteries #With Jetsetters Nadi very last celebration coming in 1996 when the side wrote their name on the title for once and the side has been longing to get the same success this year. #Navneeda Goundar, was the president of NFA when the side last won the Fiji FACT under his leadership and after years the leader has returned to administrate the district to their second Fiji FACT victory. #He says Nadi will be a young team in this year’s Vodafone Fiji FACT tournament but remains confident of clicning the 22nd Vodafone Fiji FACT title this year.#“We are mostly focusing on our development this year but at the same time we have also eyed the first tournament of the season and the side are organising everything into order before the battle begins at ANZ Stadium in Suva,” Goundar said.#The loyal Nadi fans either they have lost have nor they have stop dreaming that the celebration will once again come to the tourist town, the green flags will fly high and higher, the community will come to life again and the celebration will bloom.#“I know the fans of Nadi football side have been waiting for years to see their side winning the Fiji FACT title and things have been changing a lot but I would like to assure the fans that we will do our best in the tournament but for this year our main focus is on our development this year,”#The side has been covering the hard yards lately and the side is beaming with confidence ahead of the Fiji Football Association sanctioned tournament. #“The side is preparing hard for the tournament though we have a lot of young blood. We will give a go this time and hope to win for the fans that have been waiting for so long for a win. Homework is vital for any team if they are to win tournaments and similarly for us we are concentrating more on the physical preparation and our mentors are also preparing the team mentally well and face of molding the Youth players for next year.” #Ramendra Dutt, one of the finest players in the Nadi played a leading role to end the runner up trend into winning which led Nadi to win at home soil for the first time out pacing Lautoka. Dutt scoring the first goal for the jetsetters in the first half with a brilliant free kick which rocketed home and then setting goals for his team mates. #Though there might be no Ramendra Dutt, no Toma brothers but the side has the young and up coming striker Rusiate Matarerega and Napolinio Qasevakatini and upcoming midfielder William Valentine who have broken the dead lock on many occasions for teams such as Suva, Ba and Lautoka.#“We have the coming players in the squad like Rusi (Rusiate Matarerega) and Napolinio Qasevakatini who has excelled at the world stage but playing in the tournament will be completely a different thing. But hopefully they will do well for the side.” 1996 Fiji FACT winning administrator said.#Nadi has been involved in the two session training for the FACT as the side is in the hunt of ending their winless days come the end of the tournament. #“The team is doing two session training per day one in the morning and one in the afternoon to test the team work.# We will be doing all we can to get our names on the trophy but at the same time we also know that the other teams are also coming prepared, this in not a national league where the performance of the team will go up and down .#Coach Kamal Swamy has been boosted with the helping hand from the hard working officials who has set the plans for the green machine.#“Javed Ahmed our team director with our manager Sami has come on board to assist our coach Kamal Swamy for field in the well oiled green machine in the tournament. I am happy with the current set of boys which have been there to deliver the best for us and I have faith in them to be with the side which can carry us to the title win.” he concluded.#Nadi will have a tough opening when the tournament starts at the ANZ Stadium in Suva as they will be playing two southern heavyweights Rewa on the opening day and then faces Navua whom they have lost earlier in the National Football League. # Fiji FA Media
