North targets junior players

The league will be sponsored by Camform Industries.
Co-coordinator Khemendra Naidu said they started the development programme for the age group for the past three weeks and now they will kick start the league at the end of the month.
“We have been having futsal development programmes for kids from the age of 7 to 14 every Saturdays and I request parents to send their kids and encourage them to participate,” he said.
“There is a huge interest shown by kids in Labasa for the futsal and our association is also looking for kids size old futsal canvas so that the unfortunate kids can be given while playing and they can benefit and take active part in development as well as the kids league.
“There are potential players in the North but they find it difficult to afford to buy a futsal canvas so we have decided to look for sponsors for this to help us.”
During our development we had some good Samaritans like Shalesh Mani, Evin, Nitesh, Keswan and the Qelewaqa/Tabucola TIV in the last two trainings as they provided refreshment for the players.
The futsal league starts on May 30 at the FSC Multi-Purpose Courts in Labasa.
