Make use of centres, parents urged

Fiji FA technical director Ravinesh Kumar said the development centres are to develop players from primary schools before they are moved to the centre of excellence for further development.#Fiji FA has taken every step in developing players in the country and recently opened a development centre and center of excellence at the Saraswati Manoca Primary School in Nausori.#Kumar added that this week a center of excellence would be established at Lekutu Secondary School in Bua and Nadogo Central College.#He said they have established 12 development centres around the country and 12 centres of excellence.#“This is part of Fiji Football’s initiative to develop players and 30 players will be drafted to the centres and once they are fully-developed they will then be transferred to the centre of excellence.#“Our youngsters would benefit more since the centre would have quality coaches and quality football equipment, which will enable them to learn the basics of football and will turn out to be very good football players.#“There are lots of young and skilful players in Fiji who need to be nurtured and exposed.”#Kumar urged nearby residence to make use of these centres.#“Football is getting professional and we at Fiji Football are looking at developing our players which will take them forward. I urge you all to make use of this opportunity and join the centre and who knows one of you from Fiji might make your name in the world.”#Fiji Football has established development centres at the Ba Gujarat grounds, Nawai Primary in Nadi, Nadroga Sangam School, Toko Primary School in Tavua and Penang Sangam/ Rakiraki Methodist in Rakiraki. Southern centres are at Narere Sangam Primary School in Nasinu, Suva Muslim Primary School, Vashist Muni Primary School in Navua and at Saraswati Manoca Primary School. #In Vanua Levu at Holy Family Primary School and Batinikama Primary School in Labasa and Khemendra Primary School in Savusavu,#The centre of excellence is now opened at Fiji FA Academy in Ba, Tavua Primary School, Churchill Park, Lautoka and Nadi Muslim College.#Northern Division- Labasa Sangam Primary School, Seaqaqa Central College,#Southern Division- Saraswati Primary Manoca School, Rishikul Sanatan College in Nasini, Fiji FA headquarters in Vatuwaqa and Vashist Muni College in Navua#North: Seaqaqa Central College and Labasa Sangam Primary#Two Centre of Excellence will be opened in the North. That is Lekutu Secondary School in Bua and on Friday at the Nadogo Central College.#
