Former Fiji U20 defender Krishneel Krishna scored the lone goal in the 60th minute after connecting well with a midfield cross which was misjudged by the Tailevu Naitasiri goalkeeper Josaia Ratu.#Great effort and brilliant defensive skills were shown by hosts Tailevu Naitasiri side as the experience Labasa side could not penetrate through the strong defense of Tailevu Naitasiri led by Shivneel Ram,Madhawan Goundar and Nalinesh Reddy and goalkeeper Josaia Ratu.#More than one thousand spectators gathered up at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori to cheer for the teams and enjoyed the entertaining display of football in the first half with a nill all draw.#Former Labasa reps Nalinesh Reddy, Vikrant Chandra and Ajesh Narayan stood on the defense for Tailevu Naitasiri but they contributed in both attacking and defensing areas.#The newcomers lacked experience but they gave Labasa a tough time and displayed some entertaining football which was enjoyed by the fans.#Labasa coach Bal Sanju Reddy said even though it was a tough game but they manage to collect another three points.#“I knew it was going to be a tough match and Tailevu Naitasiri would come firing against us but I think we played really well and it was a good game.#“We just travelled from Labasa and straight to the field and I think the boys gave all their best, I’m so proud of them because it’s the three points that matters.#Tailevu Naitasiri coach Abdul Zaman was impressed with the performance of the players and he said that they really played well.#“Well the game was good the boys played to the game plan but unfortunately we conceded a goal.#“I would say we were unlucky but we gave Labasa a good game, “said Zaman#“We are happy that the players kept improving in every match after our first loss against Nadi 6-1.#“We drew our last match against Nadroga and will much more performance against Lautoka in our next match, said former Nasinu coach.#The victory gives Labasa 7 points after three matches while Tailevu Naitasiri now slips to the bottom place with 1 point after three matches. #The Northerners will play defending champion Suva in their next clash at 3pm on Sunday.#Meanwhile in other Galaxy Premier League match, Lautoka defeated Ba 2-1 at Churchill Park in Lautoka. Vetran Alvin Avinesh opened the account in the opening minutes to give Lautoka the lead. Junior Narendra Rao eqialised in the 45 minute and Rusiate Matererenga sealed the victory for te Blues in the 83rd minute.#Both teams now have 3 points after two matches but the Sugar City boys will have the chance to earn more points in the weekend as they will play their third match of the Galaxy Premier League against Nadroga at Lawaqa Park on Sunday.#Avikash Chand#Fiji FA Media
