Friends United win Northern Futsal League

Friends United beat Tabia United 2-1 in the final. #They were awarded the first prize money of $500 and Tabia walked away with $200. The league was played over seven weeks. #Friends with the services of former Labasa rep Shamal Kumar beat Total 3-2 in the quarterfinal and later Northern Bulls 8-0 in the semifinal. #Fiji FA vice president Girja Prasad said more competitions will be orgainsed. #“The completion of the Vodafone Northern Futsal League marks a new era for the code in this district and it because of the efforts of the organisers and the participating teams that we are concluding on a high note,” Prasad said. #“Fiji FA is proud to see the revival of futsal in Labasa and in the coming months the same will happen in other zones.
