It’s going to be huge
The Fiji Football Association National League board anticipates the 2014 Fiji Sun Skipper Tuna National Football League to be bigger and better than last season.
Amitesh Pal, the national league board secretary said the successful 2013 season has set the platform for the competition to reach greater heights.
“The 2014 Fiji Sun Skipper Tuna National Football League is sure to be an exciting one. A high standard was set in the 2013 season and there is no doubt that this will continue in the new season. With the huge sponsorship poured in by CJ Patel Group and Vodafone this will enable us to further develop the league,” Pal said.
Like the past seasons the Youth League along with the premier division league will continue.
“The youth league will start with the Super premier division this weekend. As for the premier division we will shortly be announcing the dates and fixtures. Savusavu, Tavua and Northland Tailevu will be joining the
competition and this is sure to provide more competition,” Pal said.
Bottom team demoted: Pal
The super premier team that finishes at the bottom of the 2014 Fiji Sun Skipper Tuna National Football League will be demoted to the premier division.
National League board secretary Amitesh Pal says this move is set to intensify the 2014 season.
Pal also confirmed that the premier division winner will be promoted to the Super Premier division in the 2015 season.
“As per the decision passed last season by Fiji FA the bottom super premier team at the end of the season will be demoted and premier winner to be promoted to the top division,” Pal said.
“This is sure to make the 2014 season an interesting one as none of the current eight sides would want to be demoted,” he added.
On the other hand Pal confirmed that there will be no change in the ticket prices for the new season.
“Entry for adults will be $5 and children $2,” Pal confirmed.
The 2014 Fiji Sun Skipper Tuna National Football League kicks off this weekend with three cracker scheduled matches.
