Fiji National Team Prepares for Malaysia

National players marched into camp in Ba on Tuesday night after returning from the first stage of the Vodafone Fiji FACT in Labasa.#Fiji Football Association vice president and national team director Tarunesh Reddy said all the players have arrived into camp except for Ba midfielder Avinesh Waran Swamy.#“All the players have joined the camp in Ba except for Swamy who has work commitments, “said Reddy.#Reddy said the team had gone through injury assessment and everyone was fit.#“All the players had been in action for some time so fitness should not be a concern.#Coach Frank Farina said fans can expect lots of changes in the team as they will took on the Malaysian side.#“I have seen the performance of the players during the Vodafone Fiji FACT and I think fitness should not be the problem for them as they played three 90 minutes games in three days.#Fiji hosted Malaysia in a three match series in 2001. Fiji lost the first match to Malaysia in Ba 2-1 but then clawed their way back to clinch the series beating their opponents 2-0 in Suva and 4-1 in Lautoka.#Malaysia is on a three match tour of Oceania. The Malaysians lost to Papua New Guinea 2-0 last Friday and played New Caledonia last night before coming to Fiji this afternoon.#Meanwhile nippy Ba midfielder Meli Codro has been included in the 23 member squad.#The Fiji versus Malaysia match will kick off at 2pm at Prince Charles Park in Nadi and ticket prize is $7 for pavilion A and $5 #Squad: Alvin Singh, Laisenia Raura, Meli Codro, Samuela Kautoga, Samu Nabenia, Manasa Nawakula, Savenaca Nakalevu, Tevita Waranivalu, Iosefo Verevou, Peniame Drova, Beniamino Mateinaqara, Jale Dreloa, Nickel Chand, Setareki Hughes, Vereti Dickson, Ilimotama Jese, Antonio Tuivuna, Anish Khem, Napolioni Qasevakatini, Kolinio Sivoki, Iliatia Tuilau, Roy Krishna.#
