Nadroga upset Ba

A 14th minute Mohammed Taslim goal was enough for Nadroga to upset local giants Ba.
Arvin Naresh, the Nadroga coach says while the result was an unexpected one but this was going to be a huge boost for his side.
“To be honest we came to hold Ba to draw, we did not want to drop points in the first game,” Naresh said.
Ba is one of the top contenders for the Vodafone Fiji FACT title and started the match strongly but Nadroga was able to settle and counter the favourites.
The early seemed to have inspired the Nadroga side which held on for a famous victory.
“We treated the Ba match as a final and the boys played from their hearts. This victory has boosted our campaign and the boys are eager to face Labasa in the next match and if we do well in that match then we stand a good chance of qualifying for the semifinals,” Naresh said.
Losing Ba coach –Yogendra Dutt said the next match against hosts Rewa was their focus now.
“We lost to a very energetic Nadroga team,” Dutt said.
“I had reminded the players that every team is fresh and at their best in their opening games. For now we have to see how the second match goes.”
