Rewa, Good To Go: Rodu

Coach Marika Rodu said everything is going well in the camp and the national team players were back in camp and looking at strengthening their weaknesses after the pool games.
“We have been working on our defense for the last few days now we will focus on our midfield and defense since Save, Seta and Tevita are back from the national duties, “he said.
“They (Suva) are very good team, they have experience and all verities of options available to them with a good coach Gurjit and I think the senior players are leading by example and we know they will bring their best performance against us into the semi-final.
“They are well aware that we had met twice in the semi-finals before and we have beaten them and they will not let this one go very easily.
“We are working on our strategies to counter them and it is going to be an exciting match.”
After the games in Labasa Rodu said they gave the boys a break and things got disorganized, but he managed to straighten things up and everything was now in order.
“The boys know what we expect and they know we are demanding high level of discipline and commitment as we wrap up training this week, “he said.
As for other commitments, Rodu said the players would need to snap out of it and focus strictly on the game ahead.
The former national rep said: “we expect to perform the way we played against Ba in the first match and I think most of the fans were eager to watch the boy’s play so now we are playing in front of the home crowd which will be our advantage.
“We have pressure on us as the host and we know what the Rewa fans expect.”
Rodu is confident Rewa football fans would return home smiling after the semi-final and final.
“We reached the final last year and we will do something better this year to give our fans what they expect, “he said.
“We have reasons to celebrate in the weekend. Our midfielder Jonatani Buksh will be celebrating his birthday on Saturday and Ratu Savenaca Nakalevu on Sunday, with the wife of our captain Simione Tamanisau.
“I am sure the boys will want to give them a good present with winning the Vodafone Fiji FACT.”
The Rewa vs Suva match kicks off at 5pm this Saturday at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori and the final will be on Sunday at 3pm.
