Lami Take Early Lead

Nasinu took the lead in the third miniute after an own goal by defender Asis Chand.
A free kick was misjudged by goalkeeper Ravneet Lingam and hit Chand’s head and went into the goal.
Lami replied within a minute through the boots of Rajanesh Davendra Kumar and in the 17 minute Ashwin Singh scored the winner.
Lami played with 10- men after goalkeeper Lingam was sent off in the 38th minute.
They managed to hold on to the lead till the final whistle before defender Asis Chand was sent off for dangerous play.
Lami top the points with eight points after playing four matches in which they have won two and drew two.
Lami coach Mohammed Zaman said they came to win and he saluted his players for playing their heart out.
“We came prepared to face Nasinu because we knew to be in contention for the promotion we needed a win and the boys plays according the game plan.
‘Unfortunately we got two red cards and these will be factor in our next match as these two players will have to miss but we will have to go back on the drawing board before our next match after a week’s break.
Zaman said Lami’s aim is to be promoted in the Premier Division and we have some good players in the squad and we are confident that we will achieve our goal.
Nasinu president Jiten Reddy said he was very disappointed with his boy’s performance.
‘I am very disappointed with my boy’s today, in fact we hardly had about five or six players at training every day and that is the downfall in our performance.
Reddy said unfortunately we have to just collect these boys for the game today as we have only five or six youth players attending training.
“We lacked fitness and there was no urgency shown by our players after Lami went down to ten men.
Reddy said he will have a talk to his team management and will work things out and prepare well for the next round.
