The Rewa under -16 Youth side continued its winning run in the Vodafone U16 Youth League beating Nasinu U-16 4-1 last Saturday at Fiji FA Academy Ground in Vatuwaqa.
The Nigel Khan coached side started the match with confident after been undefeated in the competition and displayed constructive football.
Striker Alma Naitoko scored the opener in the 14th minute while Nishaal Roy doubled Rewa’s advantage in the 39th minute to take the 2-0 lead at halftime.
Nasinu came out firing in the second spell with goal from Ayush Raj in the 49th minute but the Baby Tigers scored two more goals from the boots of Sohail Ali in the 55th and 88th minute.
Rewa captain Epeli Valevou attributed their wins to the hardwork of players and team officials.
“It’s our teamwork and hardwork of our officials and teammates that we have been winning all the matches,”Valevou said.
Valevou said they came prepared for the match against Nasinu.
“We knew Nasinu would want to beat us today (Saturday) so we did our best to keep our unbeaten record.”
Nasinu coach Indar Raja said they had been improving on their performance.
“I am not disappointed of the result but happy that the boys are improving on their performance. This is our development team and we will go back on our finishing as that what we are lacking, “Raja said.
Rewa now sit on top of the points table with 16 points after playing six matches while Nasinu is at the bottom of table with 3 points.
