Vatukoula FC Deregisterd

The Vatukoula Football Association has been deregistered as an affiliated member of the Fiji Football Association.

This was after they failed to follow compliance issues relating to club competitions and performances in the Vodafone Senior League.

The decision was made at an emergency board meeting last Friday.

Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel said players who still have a Vatukoula district licence can play for Tavua as Vatukoula and Tavua will be one district now.

“It’s an embarrassment for football when you lose by 29-0, you don’t have 11 players on the field.

“This is something that we want to clean out as Vatukoula themselves wrote to us saying they do not have the money to take part.”

Furthermore, Patel said all the matches that Vatukoula FC has played so far would be declared null and void which means that no result would be applicable (either cautions/goals/sanctions) from any of the matches that Vatukoula FC was involved in so far which also includes the goals scored by opponents again Vatukoula FC.

He said basically the Vodafone Senior League 2017 would now officially have only 7 teams participating, “Patel said.
