Tabua to lead women’s football team

Vodafone Fiji women’s team defender Jotivini Tabua will captain the side during the Tri-nations FIFA International Friendlies in Vanuatu.

Coach Marika Rodu said Tabua is a very experienced player and carries a lot of qualities which we have seen and that was why he chose her,

“This is not the first time for her to lead the team and we know she is a good leader and will do her best in and off the field,”Rodu said.

Rodu believes Tabua will be a perfect role model for other players.

Speaking to Fiji FA media, Tabua said she was proud to be the given the opportunity to lead the team again.

“I am so happy to lead the team once again and I know there is huge responsibility on my shoulder and with the support of the teammates I am sure it will be eased.

“It is everyone dream to captain the national team and I know what is all expected from me and for sure I will do my best,”

The team leaves for Vanuatu tomorrow and plays their first match against Singapore on Friday and Vanuatu on Monday.
