Suva registers narrow win

The Suva Football side is on its track to reclaim the lost glory this season.
Having already registered two consecutive losses against Tavua and Ba, the Intiaz Khan-coached side had a big task despite playing the season newcomers Nasinu at the ANZ Stadium last Sunday.
Suva escaped with a 3-2 win.
The match lived up to the expectations as Nasinu was not an easy-go for Suva especially after their 2-0 win over Labasa.
Solomon import Gagame Feni got the first goal for Suva in the 11th minute after a back-pass from Luke Savu to goalkeeper Alzaar Alam was intercepted by him and netted-in the opening goal.
The lead was cut short as Nasinu striker Jone Naraba showed his individual brilliance and placed it past experienced Simione Tamanisau to level the scores in the 21st minute.
Nasinu gained momentum and went on attack as the Fiji U19 striker Semi Matalau’s attempt on the Suva goal was cleared off the line.
Making his name in the starting lineup, Ratu Anare combined well with Iosefo Verevou and gave Suva the lead in the 35th minute.
Coming back into the second half with sheer determination, Nasinu continued its attack on Suva as Matalau got the equalizer in the 48th minute.
Super-sub Shahil Dave was then introduced in the game who proved his worth and got the match winner in the 87th minute.
Suva is now third on the standings with six points after playing four matches while Nasinu is on the seventh spot with three points.
