Vodafone Fiji national coach Christhope Gamel on his Hong Kong tour has identified a Fijian footballer playing in the Hong Kong Premier League.
Gamel said he met Jared Christhoper Lum who is an Australian born but his ancestors were from Fiji.
“We will have to see his eligibility before he could join us for the match against New Caledonia,”Gamel said.
He said Lum was very much interested to play for Fiji and was a very stylish mid-fielder.
“He is a mid-fielder and uses both his right and left feet, the French man said.
Lum he said played in Australia for some time before heading to Hong Kong.”
The 25 year old plays for Kitchee Football Club and is 1.76 in height.
In his 20 appearance he had scored 14 goals for his club.
He could feature for Fiji in the FIFA World Cup Stage Three qualifier against New Caledonia in June.
Captain Roy Krishna, James Hoyt and Reenal Prasad are overseas based players in the national side.
