Whites to face Papakura City FC

Suva Football Association vice-president and team director Ritesh Pratap said they would be leaving for New Zealand next Monday.
“The Papakura City FC has agreed to play a build-up match against us,” he said.
“We approached the New Zealand club for a friendly and they have agreed which will give our players a taste of what to expect during the Champions League.“
Pratap said coach Gurjit Singh is working hard to get the combination of some of the new players which have been drafted into the squad.
“We have recruited Lautoka midfielder Kelvin Naidu,Rewa’s Setareki Hughes and Nadi duo Benaminio Mateinaqara and Samuela Drudru to strengthen the squad.”
He said they have been preparing well for the championship.
“We are training well as a team now with most of the players in for us. However, Nickel Chand is yet to join the side and we are expecting him to come back by this weekend. He has an ankle injury but he should recover soon.”
Suva had a friendly match against Ba which they lost 3-1 two weeks ago and played neighbours Rewa in two friendly matches in which they drew 1-1.
“We will find a new combination for the team as we have got Drudru up front with Setareki Hughes. We should be able to work out something,” he added.
“It is good to have Ben in the team as he brings a lot of experience and knows his role very well. “Drudru is also very good and is a good inclusion to the team.”
Suva are pooled in Group B with Team Wellington, Hekari United and AS Lossi.
The play Team Wellington in their opening match on April 9 at QBE Stadium in Auckland.
