Special welcome to our Oceania friends

#The week long course starts on Sunday, March 22 and ends on March 28. About 60 participants from the Oceania region will be participating in the course in which referees, instructors and FUTSAL beach referees will get a chance to further improve their performance.#It is a great honour for Fiji FA to be hosting this regional course and we are grateful to the FIFA Referee Development team for their support.#I am hopeful that this seminar will have multiple positive outcomes for the Fiji Football Association referees. This includes strengthening and development of our own referee development team.#Refereeing is one area Fiji Football has struggled to develop at the same pace as the game over the past three years. This course will hopefully be the catalyst to boost our referee’s development and bring it to the level that is should be.#I know our local participants are very excited to attend and gain some knowledge during this seminar. I wish the participants all the best in their week- long stay and hope they will enjoy their stay in our beautiful shores.#Secondly I would like to congratulate our very own Roy Krishna for his fine performance in the A-League. Krishna’s two goals against Perth Glory have not only lifted his image but have taken Fiji Football in the global arena. Krishna has scored nine goals so far for his Wellington Phoenix side and I am sure many of us are eagerly waiting to see him play against his own team in June. That is where Fiji will play Wellington Phoenix and this clash has been bought to us by the courtesy of Fiji Airways.#Thirdly, we are approaching the second round of the 2015 Rewa Galaxy Premier League with some matches scheduled this weekend. As we all know there has been lots of goals galore in the first round which has made fans enjoy and hope the teams will continue on their performance.#Last but not the least I would like to wish Ba and Suva all the best in their preparation for the Oceania Champions League. I know both teams are trying their best to make a formidable force to tackle the champion clubs of Oceania. Some foreign players have been included in their team and hope that will boost the morale of our players.#On behalf of Fiji FA I would like to express my great sorrow at the devastation caused by Tropical Cyclone Pam in Vanuatu and other parts of the Pacific. Our thoughts and prayers remain with all those people who have been affected by this devastating cyclone. We must now all unite to support Vanuatu as the rebuilding phase begins.#President#Rajesh Patel#
