Team manager Jackie Chambers says the six players impressed the selectors during the 2010 Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants women’s competition which concluded in Nadi last month.#The players are Kini Ravai (Suva), Alisi Meredani (Lautoka), Vilorina Drotini (Navua), Vasiti Maria (Lautoka), Lavenia Cavuru (Lautoka) and Litiana Bolaivanua (Nadi).#“These players performed really well at the BOG and the selectors decided to give them a chance to fight for a national jumper. They now need to prove themselves to be worthy of being selected in the final squad. #“The six have joined camp and are training regularly with the 26-member squad. I would like to thank the squad who has been working very hard. It comes to show that all the squad members are determined for a spot,” Chambers said.#The National Women’s squad has been in camp for the past two months. At the OFC Women’s Nations Cup Fiji has been drawn in Group B alongside Tonga, Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea. Hosts New Zealand head Group A with Tahiti, Cook Islands and Vanuatu.
