Blues want to end drought

Kumar, after guiding the national under 20 side to the second position in the OFC under 20 playoffs earlier this year has join the Lautoka camp.
Kumar believes the performance of the players plays a vigorous role in the team in order to win tournaments for any team.
“The performance, attitude and the attendance of the players are the key ingredients for a winning team.
After joining the side I have noticed a lot of improvement in the team but that does not mean that we should stop working but we should strive for the best.
We are taking National Football League matches as our build up games for the tournaments and Fiji FACT will be the first one for us in which we want to excel.
We are not in the running of the National Football League title but we desperately like any other team want to improve on the standing and at the same time prepare for the tournaments,” A D Patel College Industrial Arts school teacher said.
Kumar has played for Ba, Lautoka and Nasinu in the past before taking up the coaching job has started to come up with tactics and stratagems to escort Lautoka to win titles.
Lautoka last tasted the sweet victory when the side reign champions in the domestic football in 2009 where the blues claimed their third National Football League title and since then it has been all droughts and Kumar is bringing in the reinforcement of the youth players in the side to strengthen the team.
“I have already bought the Youth players in the senior side and also few under 20 reps who can play for our team this year and help us achieve our dream of winning tournaments.
Ever since taking up the position I could feel the positive changes in the team. We are working hand in hand to see our team win this year.” Kumar added.
Lautoka defeated Nadroga 2-0 last Sunday with goals from Alvin Avinesh and Ali Anthoney in the second half of the match which is the testimonial of Kumar’s statement that the side is building up for the first Fiji FA sanctioned Vodafone Fiji FACT tournament.
