Women in tough Pacific Games pool

The Charlene Lockington coached- side which has just returned from their Australian tour are back in camp at the Fiji FA headquarters in Vatuwaqa.#Lockington said the tour was very fruitful in terms of the girls getting more experience and exposure ahead of the Pacific Games.#“We were very fortunate to play with some of the top clubs and the girls got lots of experience and exposure playing in the cold weather,” she said.#“We have rectified our strength and weakness in the four matches we played during our tour.”#Lockington added the top teams they played had players playing in the NSW A League teams along with the MacAthur Rams being in the A League competition.#“Our girls played their heart out in all their games as they played against some top players of Australia. We are ready to make the country proud with our appearance at the Pacific Games. #“We are very grateful to Fiji FA for the historic trip and the build-up games which were indeed a blessing in disguise. The girls have learnt a lot and are ready to go make the Nation proud.# We would also like to thank Mr. Bruce Tilt of Ultimate Sports Travel for assisting us whilst we were abroad and to our few Fijian friends and families who were our lone spectators during the games,” she added.#Meanwhile, national goalkeeper coach Iosefo Vosaboto has joined the team in helping train the women goalkeepers for the Pacific Games.#Women’s Pacific Games Pool.#Group A Group B#1.
