Malaysia Team To Play Friendly Match

Fiji Football Association president Rajesh Patel said coach Frank Farina was expected to field a strong side against the visitors, “he said.#“Farina has been looking at the performance of players during the Vodafone Fiji FACT and we expect to name some U23 players.#Patel said the match would also give our Vodafone U23 side more exposure when playing in the international friendly.#“Our Under 23 players will be given chance to play as we build-up for the Rio Olympics.”#Patel said the performance of U23 players in the Vodafone Fiji FACT had been impressive.#“The U23 players have done wonders for their respective districts and you will see a lot of them wearing the national jersey against Malaysia.#He said the performance of the u23 players have been inspiring because they had got exposure playing in Spain and Brazil tour.#Patel said the fans had been asking for international friendlies and they at Fiji FA had said when the time was right they would put up one. He said this was the right time.#“The fans have been barking for international friendlies and concern about our rankings but we have to look at lot of things to play an international match and I think it is the right time.”#He said Fiji FA was also looking at more international friendly matches we build up for the 2018 World Cup qualification.#“It doesn’t stop here we are persuading for more international friendly matches as we will build up for Russsia qualification in the FIFA World Cup.”#Vodafone Fiji will play Malaysia this Sunday at 2pm at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.#
