Final stage of preparation for Fijian U20

The Frank Farina coached- side have its full team in camp after the Myanmar and Malaysia tour and also their commitment to the domestic competition and OFC Champions League.#Farina said the preparation has been great as players are showing more urgency in training as they know they have a big task ahead of them.#“We have few injuries in the squad with minor ones to Ravneet Chand and Ashnil Raju while Narendra Rao and Praneel Naidu have sustained knee injury. #“We hope the players recover on time and be ready for the World Cup,” said Farina. #The team is scheduled to play Mexico and Columbia as build-up matches in Australia before going to New Zealand for the World Cup. #Farina said the Vodafone U20 players won’t be available for the Fiji FACT tournament as we have only two weeks to prepare before built up to World cup and thus we don’t want to lose players through injuries and its risk getting injured at the tournament and then going to the World Cup without the potential players.#“We want to take our best players to the World Cup and we don’t want to drop any players because of injuries.”#The team is in camp at the Fiji Football Academy in Suva and it has being valuable since players had their full medical done and at the same time they were able to watch the OFC Champions League.#“I hope the players have learnt a lot by watching the games at the Fiji Airways OFC Champions League.#Farina expects the entire Fiji to support the team as this is the first time Fiji is going to the U20 World Cup from the Oceania region besides New Zealand and Tahiti.#This is the first team ever to qualify to the world cup and is a way forward for Fiji soccer, says Farina.#The Vodafone Fiji U20 departs for Australia on May 12.#Fiji FA Media#
