Navua upsets Nadi

Nadi earlier lost to Nadroga 2-1 and the second loss in the competition would mean they would need to work harder to win the National Football League title this year.
Inia Boko proved to be the match winner for the Navua as he scored two crucial goals in the lapse of few minutes as tall timber Apisai Smith playing goal Keeper at the unusual position kept the Nadi duo Rusiate Matarerega and Napolinio Qasevakatini busy all day. Jesoni Takala also scoring from the penalty spot after Nadi drew the first blood with Temesi Tuwai early in the match.
Suva overcomes Stallions
Southern Giants Suva remained on track to win the Fiji Sun GP Batteries National Football League title this year after beating Nadroga. Suva were a goal down in the first half and at half time with the coach Gurjit Singh giving orders the side came from behind to win 3-1 against the Stallions prior to Nadi and Navua match at Prince Charles Park.
Navua star now in Suva colours Praneel Kumar played an instrumental role for the Gurjit Singh coached side.
Jonas Naceva who was believed to have applied for his release to Nadroga also played strongly after the side lost their number one striker Sanni Issa to Ba.
Samuela Drudru added his name on the score sheet when he put the final nail in the Nadroga coffin in the injury time.
Lautoka thrashes Tavua
Design Engineering Lautoka and minnows Tavua started their second round of matches in the Fiji Sun GP Batteries National Football League last Sunday but unfortunately Tavua could not win against the Blues going down 4-0 at Churchill Park last Sunday and loses another match in the competition as heading towards relegation. Lautoka midfield kingpin Alvin Avinesh was at his best scoring two of four Lautoka’s goal while Blues defender Jone Kaloutani scored the another 2 goals for the blues.
