4R Electric wins NCC title

4R Electric led 2-0 at halftime after nippy striker Abbu Zaid scored their first goal in the 12th minute. Patrick Sarwan extended the lead in the 27th minute.
The Manasa Rakula- captained side upped the tempo in the second half resulting in Avinesh Waran scoring the final goal in the 46th minute.
The Men in Black last won the NCC title in 2011 and 2012.
It was history in the making for City United as it was only their first appearance in the NCC and making it to the final.
The club was also recently promoted to the Super Premier grade in the Lautoka Football Local League competitions.
Blue’s coach John Williams said he was satisfied with their performance and congratulated 4R Electrical for their success.
“We are satisfied despite the loss and I thank the boys for their effort,” he said.
“Our players have shown they can match any clubs in Fiji and we will try and work hard to do better next year.”
4R Electrical president Rynel Kumar said the success was the team’s third title and commended City United for their effort.
“This win is special as this is the third time we have won this title,” he said.
“We came here to win and I am glad the boys delivered in style.
“We also thank City United for their achievement and they gave us a good fight.”
Kumar said the $4000 prizemoney would be shared by his players while City United also walked away with $2000.
