Saluneune scores on debut

Both sides displayed a good entertaining fast paced football but Nadi was better at the final whistle to come out as victors.
Suva captain Samuela Drudru with Jonas Naceva tried hard for the Capital City side to score but failed on numerous occasions which left coach Gurjit Singh wondering on the side line.
The sides were locked 0-0 at the half time after displaying good level of football and entertained the crowd thoroughly.
After a strong talk by the Nadi coach Kamal Swamy Jetsetters came firing in the second and were up by 1-0 via Salauneune goal who made his debut for the Nadi in a perfect way.
“We are still on top we have lost 3 games which has given advantages to some of the other teams. But we are going well and I think the team played according to the game plan. Our plan was to work on Suva’s backline and once we pressured their backline they backline collapsed. But we have got lot of improvements to be done in our next matches.” Swamy said.
Disappointed coach Gurjit Singh said it will be now a wait and watch game for his side after the losing to Nadi.
“It’s a disappointing loss for us but I think it is a good lesson for us too.
Winning the title is tough now and we have to sit back and watch other teams losing.” Singh said.
Nadi has extended their lead on the points table with 28 points.
