Navua drop to third spot

This was after Navua were stripped off three match points for fielding a suspended player in its Southern Senior League clash against Northland Tailevu.
Navua which was in the running for the top spot after walloping Northland Tailevu 13-1 in that encounter now drops to third spot on the ladder.
Fiji FA competitions manager, Amitesh Pal said Navua fielded striker Inoke O’Connor who was ineligible to play as he had two bookings to his name from previous matches and had to miss the game against Northland Tailevu.
“Navua has simply violated the rules of the competition despite knowing too well that the player was not eligible to play.
Northland Tailevu therefore is awarded the match points of this fixture.”
Lami lead the Southern Senior League with 12 points and Nasinu are second with 11 while Navua now have 8. Tailevu/ Naitasiri have 9 points while Northland Tailevu sit at the bottom of the table with only 3 points.
Meanwhile, Navua will play Tailevu Naitasiri at 1pm and Nasinu will face Lami at 3pm on Sunday at Fiji FA Academy Grounds in Vatuwaqa.
