Utilise home advantage

The 2013 Fiji Football Association coach of the year says he has emphasized this to his Nadi side that is preparing for the opening round of the Oceania Champions League.
Nadi kicks off their campaign next Tuesday 4pm against Auckland City at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
“Playing at home is a huge advantage,” he said.
“The local fans are very supportive towards the Fiji clubs that are part of the event. I have also been emphasizing to my players that is their home ground and they can perform better here than their opponents as well the climate which suits us,” Swamy said.
Govind Park in Ba and Churchill Park in Lautoka will host the eight day event which sees the best 12 clubs from around the Oceania region competing in a bid to earn a ticket to the
2014 FIFA Club World Cup.
“The OFC champions League will be tough. Most of the teams have brought professional players as for the Nadi side it is an opportunity for the local boys to perform that could earn them an overseas contract,” he said.
Nadi has been seeded in Group B with defending champions Auckland City, Amicale FC and AS Dragon.
“We have been preparing well. Over the weeks we have been working on fitness and now we are moving towards the technical aspects of the game which will help us counter other teams. We are looking at how to counter them,” Swamy said.
