Fiji U17 squad named for Championship

The squad was selected after the participation of two national selection teams in the Ultimate Sports Tournament at Govind Park in Ba.
Assistant coach Yogendra Dutt said the squad was selected using strict criteria for the different playing positions and the players got their much needed exposure by playing against teams from New South Wales and Victoria, Australia in the tournament.
We made 2 teams out of the selection of 40 players from which we were able to select our final squad.”
“The OFC qualifiers for the FIFA U17 WORLD CUP starts in Samoa on the 13th of January 2015 and with the given time for preparation, we all need to cooperate to ensure we are ready for the battle.
Head Coach Kamal Swamy who was attending the OFC B-License Regional Coaching Course at the Fiji FA Headquarters in Vatuwaqa will join the team this week.
“I have learnt a lot about training and game module with the expertise of Didier Chambrone and Giovani Fernandez during my sixteen days of participation which will help a lot in preparing the team for the championship,” Swamy said.
Swamy is taking a lot of experience with him from the sixteen day course which has broaden his coaching knowledge and will work with Dutt to polish up few areas of concern.

“We as sponsors are proud to give the much needed support to the grass root levels in sports. Now that the squad is finalized it is time for the hard yards.”
