“Our reserve goalkeeper Samuela Tamanisau’s mum is very sick and this award is for her,” the humbled Labasa native said.
“I’m happy today that I helped my team to win Fiji FA’s first major tournament.”
Dickson said it was through divine intervention that he was able to stand between the posts and save two penalties.
“I thank God for giving me the courage to stop two penalties and win the Golden Gloves award.
He also thanked his wife and two sons for their endless support.
“They came all the way from Nadi to support us here in Nausori and with their prayers I have achieved this.”
The Jack’s/Professional Evaluation Nadi side were unbeaten in the tournament and two goals scored against them.
Dickson was also named the Player of Day Two during their pool games in Labasa.
Labasa were able to score two goals in the semifinal but the Joseph Nand coached-side came from behind to win 3-2 to book a final spot.
Dickson was able to stop Suva’s Pita Rabo and Waisake Navunigasau’s attempts in their 3-0 in the final.
This is Nadi’s fourth Fiji FACT title win.
