And Reddy also announced that national senior team coach Yogendra Dutt has stepped down from the post.
The first training camp for the 30-member squad will be held from February 6-10th at the National Football Academy in Ba.
Reddy said national under-23 squad members namely Esava Samudere, Archie Watkins, Peniame Drova and Akuila Mateisuva and others will join the senior training squad later after completing their commitments with the Olympic squad.
“This is not the final squad. The plan is to bring these players in camp whereby the coaches will work with them and this will be a good opportunity to see where we stand. U23 coach Imdad Ali temporarily will take charge of the senior squad for the first training camp as Yogen has withdrawn. My humble request is for the district associations to support us in preparing a strong side,” Reddy said.
“We have left out the U23 players from the first training camp as we want them to concentrate on the Olympic playoff which is the main priority at the moment.”
