Rewa Football heroic goalkeeper Benito Waqavou would always cherish the 2018 Vodafone Fiji FACT.
Playing the first ever semifinal of his career, and perhaps the final if given a chance, is the reason for his relishing moments.
“Yes, this was my first ever semifinal and probably my first ever final if I’m chosen in the starting lineup once again this weekend.
“Certainly a moment to cherish considering my first semifinal appearance and definitely with the right set of boys.
The Fijian Elections Office administrative assistant got his break in the Rewa district team in 2012.
He said the pressure would be immense for the title defense and meeting the expectations of the fans.
“I think not only for the fans but it will be tougher for us too as we will have to play for ours fans.
“We have been having the cycle of losing the home games (in the Vodafone Premier League) but for the final, we will definitely play it hard for them and I encourage them to come out in numbers and support the boys.”
Waqavou is the only goalkeeper yet to concede a goal in this tournament.
The final between Rewa and Labasa is scheduled for 2pm at Ratu Cakobau Park this Sunday.
