Football for kids

The Mom & Pop League is all set to be staged around the country next month.

The program is basically for kids under the age of 10 to come along with their parents and enjoy football program organized by Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA), an initiative of the Technical Department.

The Mom & Pop League program offers everyone the chance to play football, without discrimination and without the need for major infrastructure.

Fiji FA Technical Director, Ravinesh Kumar said, they had already introduced the program last year and would be making it more bigger and better this year.

“We are looking for much better and bigger Mom and Pop League this year as we are taking the program to the districts now. Last year we only had this league’s in Suva, Ba, Lautoka, Nadi and Labasa but now we are moving to more districts, “said Kumar

“This Navua and Rewa are included in the program making it seven districts who will benefit from the program.

“The program brings everyone together under the Fiji Football Association philosophy of “Equality and Unity through football to build a better Fiji”, with sessions designed to include fun games with messages which contribute to health and wellness, football techniques and football games for kids and also for parents.”

Mom and Pop league is a program introduced for children under the age of 10.

This includes both genders to enjoy fun football environment designed to suit the needs of the players. Age appropriate sessions are designed for children to enjoy football at this age.

Mom and Pop League encourages children to play and commit to football with the foundation for establishing a healthy lifestyle and gaining positive personal experience while developing their Football Skills.

Football is the main recreational activity of countless numbers of children around the world. Play is the best means of learning. Above all, youngsters should have fun.

The program will take place at the following venues around the country from June 8 from 10am.
