Fiji FA gives districts deadline for development assessment

Fiji Football Association technical director David Baltase has called on district associations and clubs to complete their development assessment questionnaires by Friday, October 16.

Speaking at the Fiji FA Districts and Clubs Technical Workshop in Suva, Baltase outlined the proposed District Development Label aimed at improving football administration and player development.

The workshop presentation revealed that Ba FC was the only club to have returned the questionnaire after it was distributed three weeks earlier.

The assessment covers seven areas, including governance, player registration, coaching qualifications, competition participation, training standards, social programmes and women’s football development.

Districts and clubs will be assessed under a 600-point system, with bronze, silver and gold development categories.

Fiji FA technical staff will use the assessments to identify areas requiring improvement before visiting districts to develop action plans.

The initiative aims to strengthen club structures and ensure regular training and competitive opportunities for young footballers.
