Ba Aims Another CVC Title

The Ba soccer team will aim to win its 19th Pillay Garments Champion versus Champion series title when the side takes on Lautoka this weekend at Chirchill Park in Lautoka.

Since the inception of the series in 1992, the Men in Black has won the series 18 times while Lautoka had just recorded one win and that was in 2009.

In 2009 the champion vs champion series was played between Ba,Lautoka and Navua and was won by the blues.

Lautoka Football coach Kamal Swamy said they were preparing well for the match against the traditional giants of Fiji soccer.

“Our team has been preparing well. We did well against Rewa last week and we were also playing in front of home crowd. We are hopeful to deliver this weekend,”Swamy said.

Swamy said there have been always rivalry between the two western giants and the fans could expect some entertaining football in the two leg series.

“As you all know there is always rivalry between Lautoka and Ba and I would say that will bring some entertaining football for fans to cheer.”

Ba and Lautoka will clash in the first leg at 7pm next Friday while the second leg will be played at 3pm next Sunday.
