Seaqaqa U14 crowned IDC champions

To make it sweeter the team played their first ever final in the 40th Bongo Primary Interdistrict Championship at Shree Gurunanak Primary School in Labasa last week.
Playing in front of their supporters the Northerners showed excellent skills and talent as they finished the match without conceding a goal and forcing the match into extra spell.
Saimoni Mataomi became the hero when he scored the winner from a direct freekick just a few seconds into extra time.
The Ba side did whatever they could to come back into game but solid defencee of the Northerners denied them any chance to score.
Seaqaqa coach Samila Toga was speechless after the match and thanked God for being with them and giving them the strength to perform magnificently.
“We really prepared well for the tournament and the win was a well-deserved one,” he said.
“Oh the boys were just great during the course of this competition and I would like to thank them for their perseverance and determination throughout the preparation period and right into the competition,” he said.
“We had trained really hard and it paid off. There are lots of talent in Seaqaqa, we just need to mould them right.”
In the semifinals Ba beat Nadi 2-0 while Seaqaqa edged out Lautoka 3-2 on penalty kicks.
