Dreketi close to Premier League target

This was after they managed to hold Nasinu 2-2 in the first leg of the Rewa Galaxy Viti Levu/Vanua Levu playoff at the Fiji Football Academy ground last Sunday.
The side started the game on a high note as they pressured the Nasinu defence when in the 13th minute midfielder Rohit Chand’s attempt was denied by the cross bar.
Nasinu side took control of the match in the later part of the first half after Kaushik Kumar scored from a spot kick in the 45th minute.
This was after a Dreketi defender fouled the Nasinu striker inside the penalty box and referee Rakesh Varman had no hesitation to award a penalty.
The visitors again started the second half on a high note as right midfielder Rohit Chand scored the equaliser the in the 54th minute.
Nathan Kumar again put Nasinu into the lead in the 80thminute after the Dreketi defence failed to clear the ball from their own box.
Chand got his second in the 86th minute when Nasinu goalkeeper Epeli Suibuka came out of his goal allowing him to place the ball to the back of the net.
Dreketi Football assistant coach Rishi Prasad said the players did well and played according to their game plan.
Prasad said the side would be working on their defence before playing in the second leg of the playoffs.
“We will go back and regroup to work on our defence and on our midfield area before we play our second game at home,” he said.
Prasad said the players are very much confident to come out victors in their home game as they would be backed by their fans.
Nasinu coach Richard Lal said they would work on their mistakes before going into the second leg of the playoffs.
“We need to work on our weakness and on our fitness before we play our second game,” he added.
Dreketi will host Nasinu at Subrail Park in Labasa on Sunday. The match kicks-off at 1pm.
