Logaivau gets Women football appointment

Dr. Sahu Khan says Fiji FA is keen to fast track the development of women football and he adds that this is the first time that Fiji FA has appointed a full time national women’s head coach and development manager.
The Fiji FA President says Logaivau’s impressive playing and coaching record made him a perfect candidate for the post.
“Fiji FA is proud to announce that we have appointed a full time Women’s National Coach/Women’s Development Manager. He will be in-charge of the various women football programme throughout the country including the national side during the 2011 Pacific Games in New Caledonia.
“He is no other then school teacher Usenio Logaivau. This appointment shows how determined Fiji FA is to do it’s utmost for development of women football also,” Dr. Sahu Khan said.
School teacher Logaivau represented the national senior men’s side from 1993- 1997. He has played club level football in New Zealand and various local districts with the likes of Navua, Rewa and Labasa.
He developed his coaching career later being in charge of various youth sides and earlier this year was included in the Fiji FA senior men’s and women’s team coaching panel. Logaivau assisted the Navua district side in the 2011 Pillay Garments Champions League. In 2009 he obtained English FA coaching licence in England.
Saiyad Ali the Fiji FA Technical Director says Logaivau has been highlighted on the areas he needs to work on.
“Firstly he will have to establish a competition for the women. We have orgainised womens league in the past and recently but Usenio will need to look at ways to develop womens age group competition. Talk to schools, clubs to see how he can implement his programme.
“At the same time he will be conducting the national womens team training camps in preparation for the 2011 Pacific Games,” Ali said.
