U-15 VMC qualifies

After the side was declared the winner playing in the Southern Zone playoff which was held in Sarasawati school grounds in Manoca in Nausori.
Fiji secondary school soccer association southern division president Elvis Gounder says the better team has won the competition and they will be heading to North.
“It was a round robin bases which had three schools competing to book a place in the IDC and Vashist Muni College had four points after playing Baulevu High school and Suva Muslim College,” Gounder said.
Gounder who is the head of the department PEMAC at the Baulevu High school says the four other teams have qualified for the under 19 secondary school competition in Labasa.
“The four other teams has booked a spot in the IDC from the Southern Division and there are two from Rewa Saraswati College and Baulevu High while from Suva we have Gospel and Cathedral School along side with Vashsit Muni College and Queen Victoria Schools and there is going to be a stiff competition provided from schools from other divisions,” Former Tailevu Naitasiri coach said.
Gounder’s team Baulevu High will be entering in the competition for the second time in a row and fingers crossed for Gounder and his troops that they will create history this time around after failing to qualify for the elimination rounds last year.
“This time we are preparing hard for the tournament and our aim is to qualify for the quarterfinals in the competition and the boys are looking forward for the tourney. The school has won the BD Latchman cup last year and we will be giving our all best for the school and the supporters. Our school is not that big as we just have 260 students majority with girls,”
The former Bhawani Dayal Arya College teacher said such tournaments binds the sport together in the country and it is a vital component building the stars to tomorrow.
“Such tournaments is vital for us in developing the sport for the all the divisions because these are the young ones who will be playing in the national team so we are building them from now therefore I thank the Fiji Secondary School Soccer Association,” Gounder concluded.
Meanwhile, under 17 playoff will be held at the Sarawati school grounds in Manoca in Nausori on Saturday.
