The 2-1 victory sees the Bal Sanju Reddy coached side unbeaten in four outings this season in the National Football League.
Playing in front of their loyal fans at home, Labasa made a perfect start with Ajesh Narayan scoring the opening goal just three minutes in the match. National U-20 striker Abbu Zahid equalised 35 minutes later.
Maciu Dunadamu who recently joined the Labasa side following commitments with the National Beach soccer side struck his side’s second just before half time. Dunadamu’s goal proved to be the match winner as Labasa held on to the score to add yet another three crucial points to their tally.
National U-20 manager Iosefo Vosaboto says they were unlucky not to come out with a victory.
“The boys played well and I believe we were just unlucky not to win the game. We have learned a lot from this match and will now work on our mistakes as we gear up for our match against Savusavu on Sunday,” he said.
Skippy U-20 takes on Nivea Savusavu 3pm at Ganilau Park on Sunday. Lone match played this Saturday sees Energizer 4R Electrical Ba host Royal Tea Nadi 3pm at Govind Park.
A total of four matches will be played on Sunday.
