Presidents Corner

Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) works in a very transparent manner and of course under the FIFA laws. If any district or person affected by any decision of either one of the committees or Fiji FA board of control is entitled to raise the question by way of appeal or arbitration.
Fiji FA has provided very clear procedure for anyone taking up an issue to appeal or arbitration. This also applies even to higher bodies like the Oceania Football Confederation and even FIFA.
Therefore for Rewa President Pranil Singh to make such a public issue shows very clearly that he wants to have cheap publicity. As far as Fiji FA is concerned it will be taking two steps in the matter. First step is that Pranil Singh has indicated and I’m quoting from the Fiji Sun newspaper article on Sunday 20th March stating Rewa will take Fiji FA to arbitration. He stated “Six out of the seven vice-president voted for the decision (Lautoka being awarded the National Football League title) when in fact four vice president are saying that voted against the decision.”
This is absolutely false and ridiculous to say the least. The Fiji FA CEO will confirm that the three vice presidents clearly stated that the decision was correct as of Fiji FA except one vice president being the fourth one agreed with the decision but except stated that point should not be given to Rewa or Lautoka.

One VP voted against it and another one did not give his vote one way or the other. Accordingly where did Pranil Singh get the information as he is quoted saying in the Fiji Sun article. In this regard it is very likely the matter will have to be put before the disciplinary committee of Fiji FA. What Mr. Pranil Singh has stated has brought about disrepute to Fiji FA and the administration of Fiji FA.
Rewa Threat
In regards to the Rewa threat to pull out of the Pillay Garments Champions League. Fiji FA makes decisions in regard all the relevant matters and in this regard steps have been taken to prevent any allegation of a fix match. If Pranil Singh is happy to pull out of the competition that is his prerogative however I’m positive that he realises the consequences.
Needless to say Fiji FA will consider any suggestions or proposals which are in the interest of the particular competition. It is rather very unfortunate then instead of writing to Fiji FA on the above matters Pranil Singh has though fit to make a public statement.
Accordingly I would like to make this plea to all the Fiji FA members to please exercise your rights to have your grievances heard but do it in professional manner rather than to the media as such. If Fiji FA has not considered any request or suggestion then that is another matter.
