U17 Rep laid to rest

#Families, friends, school mates, school teachers, football colleagues, coaches and administrators were among the big crowd at the Reddy’s residence.#Amongst close family and friends, Assistant Minister for Youth & Sports Iliesa Delana, Assistant Minister for Health Veena Batnagar, Minister for Minister for Local Government, Housing and Environment Praveen Kumar Bala, officials of Fiji Fiji FA led by Rajesh Patel, and officials of Vodafone paid their last respect to the fallen soccer player who could have gone to become a future soccer star.#Paying his last respect to a sporting son of Fiji, Assistant Minister for Sports, Iliesa Delana says Shalit has done Fiji proud.#“Muni has served his school well, he even served his country the best. He passes on being a Fijian at heart and was brave sportsman and hero and the goal he scored for Fiji was worth national recognition. Thus my presence here today is to farewell a national sportsman.”#Shalit’s life has touched many hearts and he has also left behind a legacy for young aspiring footballers.#Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel said the talented midfielder would be missed by his teammates likewise the Fiji FA fraternity.#”We have lost an upcoming player and true son of Fiji, one who had football in his heart and football was his life.#“We can only pray to God Almighty to give courage and strength to his family in this tough time.#Reddy had drowned while swimming with teammates during a team excursion last Tuesday.#His body was discovered following a search and attempts to revive him were sadly in vain.#He started playing football when he was only 10 years old and represented AD Patel Primary School U10, U12 and U14 team.#He also played in the under-15, U17 and U19 team for Nadi Muslim College and also represented Nadi U16 team last year.#Fiji FA Media#
