Nadi wins CvC title

Both teams had equal chances in the first half but lack of finishing took the match to the breather nil-all.
In the second half Nadi kept pressure on Suva defence and in the 84th minute striker Samuela Drudru was brought down by goalkeeper Emori Raqata after he was neatly beaten by Drudru.
Referee Ravitesh Bihari didn’t hesitated to award the host the penalty.
Replacement striker Benaminio Mataniqara scored the opener from the spot kick.
Suva came back strongly in the last minute of the match and equalised through the boots of Nickel Chand but it was too late for the Gurjit Singh coached side.
Nadi after winning 1-0 in the first leg just needed a draw while Suva was to win with two clear goals.
Nadi walks away with $5000 while Suva takes home $2,500.
Fiji Football vice president Tarunesh Reddy onbehalf of president Rajesh Patel congratulated both teams for performing their best in the championship.
“I on behalf of our president would like congratulate Nadi for winning the first ever CvC title and for Suva, there is always a second time but I must congratulate you for the gallant performance.
Ba have been the winning the Champion vs Champion series since 1994 and only misses this year but has booked a spot in next year’s series after winning the Court IDC.
