O-League
I would whole heartedly like to congratulate the Ba side for their hard earned and well deserving 3-2 victory over the New Zealand based Waitakere United side during the 2011-2012 O-League. Waitakere is no doubt a quality team having featured in the FIFA Club World Cup but our Ba side stood up to the challenge.
It is results like this which puts Fiji on the map. With the last round of O-League matches scheduled for later this month our prayers and hope are with the Ba team. Qualifying for the O-League final seems an impossible task at the moment but it is not all over yet as slim hope is still alive. Once again I would like to congratulate the Ba players and officials.
O-League Meeting
Fiji Football Association chief executive officer Bob Kumar and Ba president Rishi Kumar will be travelling to New Zealand to attend an Oceania Football Confederation. The main agenda at the meeting will be to discuss the new O-League format which is expected to be introduced from next season.
Fiji FA Board
The Fiji FA board of control will meet later this month. Various decisions need to be made and the members will also be discussing on the plans which are to be implemented.
Dual Roles
As the congress passed, members cannot hold dual positions. Fiji Football Association vice presidents Jiten Kumar and Yogeshwar Singh had been given an ultimatum of seven days to make up their mind on which position they wanted to hold. The seven days expires tomorrow and at the moment Yogeshwar Singh has declared that he wants to continue his term with Fiji FA and thus will call a meeting in Rewa Football Association soon.
Fiji Sun GP Batteries National Football League
I would like to thank the fans at Prince Charles Park in Nadi who turned out in numbers to make the 2012 Fiji Sun GP Batteries National Football League opening a very successful one indeed.
