Taveuni out to retain title

Taveuni coach /secretary Billy Hussein said recent weather conditions in their area has affected their preparation.
“Taveuni team has not been training for the Northern Premier playoff due to the adverse weather condition being experienced in Taveuni.
We initially wanted to start our preparation last week but the rain prevented us to go ahead with our plans,” Hussein said.
Despite their preparation not going according to their plan, Hussein has not lost faith in his team.
“I can not predict anything at the moment but I am sure we will do well.
Now we have new of set of players playing for Taveuni and the only survivors from the last season are Lerio Afousina, Samuel Nair and Lenati Tukinia and then playing 90 minutes of matches for the three days will have its effect on the team.”
National League board chairman Sheik Ibrahim wished the sides well.
“The Viti Levu premier playoff has been going on well and we hope for a similar outing in Vanua Levu.
It should be an exciting competition and I urge the fans in the North to come out in numbers and support the premier teams,” he said.
