B-License course will equip local coaches: Kumar

Kumar said the coaches will benefit from this high profile course and will learn more aspects of football in theory and practical session.
“Coach Education is one of the pillars of the technical department of Fiji FA and this is the highest level of coaching in Oceania level now and we are very proud to host this course here in Fiji.”
“Fiji FA is supporting a lot in coach education and we recently finished C License and Youth License courses which were both FIFA courses,” said Kumar.
He hopes the seven coaches will pass their final assessment after a year and become great assets to the national coaching panel.
Vodafone Fiji U20 assistant coach Salen Lal who is one the seven participants says he is proud to be part of the course as it will enhance his coaching skills.
“It’s very important for me as I have finished my C License course recently and now I am moving up the rank and getting to learn more about coaching. This course will allow me to learn more on the technical aspects of the game and I am keen to learn as much as I can,” said Lal.
Fiji’s participants in the 16 days course include Lal, Rewa coach Marika Rodu, Nadi and Fiji U17 coach Kamal Swamy, Taveuni’s Billy Hussein, National goalkeeper coach Iosefo Vosoboto, Lami coach Riyaz Ali and Fiji FA development coach/Regional Technical Director South, Saiyad Ali.
The OFC B Licence is an advanced course designed to introduce concepts that are targeted towards coaching players aged 17 years old to senior.
It builds upon the content delivered in the OFC C and D Licences and provides further knowledge on how to plan, deliver and evaluate practical sessions.
